John's Biography
John is an aviculturist and an artist who has combined his passions into illustrations and watercolor paintings of birds. He has appeared in several bird related magazines and had covers on four different publications; and his paintings have been accepted into national watercolor exhibitions. Through his art work, he has furthered the efforts of several non-profit bird conservation organizations.

After thirty years teaching Elementary School Art, John has the time and focus to further develop his watercolor talents. Rather than saying he has retired, John states that he has just changed vocations, from teaching to painting.

When painting birds, John strives to capture the individual personality and character of each animal. He has found the most successful paintings are those where the bird makes a direct contact with the viewer. Every painting must tell a story!
