Charlie Brown is relatively new to professional photography. He is a graduate of Colorado
School of Mines, Golden, Colorado, with a degree in petroleum engineering. Being successful
in his chosen field, he was able to retire at 52 years of age after 30 years as an engineer
and executive. Charlie purchased his first good camera in 1999, with the primary goal of
reacquainting himself with the natural world around him. Charlie began his adventure by visiting
the small lake next-door taking photos of sunrises and sunsets, animals and macros ... photography
became a passion. Almost immediately he decided that to expand his knowledge and capabilities
he would enter photo contests. After winning many Photos-Of-The-Day Awards and contest prizes,
it was obvious that others enjoyed his work as well. In 2002 he decided to take a path toward
becoming a professional photographer mainly because of his need to share his work with others.
Since that time he has had photos published in several publications (Breckenridge Magazine,
Digital Camera World, etc.) In addition he has been a participant in several venues including
local art galleries and juried shows. In fact his first gallery presentation was a one-man
show at the exclusive Timberline Gallery in Evergreen, Colorado in August of 2004.
Landscape and nature photography, particularly panoramic art photography, has become Charlie’s
major emphasis. Horizontal panoramas are presented as if you are turning your head to feast
your eyes on a beautiful vista, while the vertical panoramas invite you to walk right in and
share the experience. Charlie uses only the best professional photographic equipment, papers
and materials along with the state-of-the-arts digital technology to “stitch” many single photos
together to make extremely pleasing art presentations. In addition his unique long-lived
contemporary presentations fit in nearly any home or business environment.
