Helen's Biography

Helen Marie Hall was born in Gallup, New Mexico and raised in New Mexico and Arizona. She is of Cherokee descent, but admits the Hopi, Navajo, and Zuni cultures have a great influence on her life.

Hall is an artist whose life long discipline and love of hands-on creating has taken her to the forefront of her profession. She describes herself as a colorist. Using her broad knowledge of dyes, Hall turns her dynamic contemporary Native American Batiks into an unexpected masterpiece giving her the ability to "stand alone" in the fine art industry.

Hall owned and operated a graphic design business for over twenty years. After retiring her graphic design business, Hall designed one-of-a-kind wearable art and accent art furniture for eight years. Since 1996, Hall has been actively pursuing Batik as her main medium.

Throughout H. Maries career, she has won numerous awards in graphic design and fine arts. Hall's logos and package designs are still seen locally as well as nationally.

Hall attended Colorado State University, and Metro State College.
